Q&A LIST:
1. What should my camper bring?
Your camper should bring these items every day:
- A lunch from home (No lunch will be provided. There will also be lunch options available on campus such as Subway, but you/your camper will be responsible for getting to and from any outside lunch sources.)
- A good pair of wrestling shoes
- Workout clothes
- Water (At least one water bottle. There are multiple water fountains across the building.)
- Any needed medications or other medically necessary equipment
- Any needed joint braces (i.e.: knee brace, shoulder brace)
2. When should I drop off/pick up my camper?
- Your camper should be dropped off at least 15 minutes before the set beginning of the camp (9:00am, so your camper should arrive at 8:45am) and picked up at the ending time of the camp (6:00pm).
- If there are any conflicts with these times, communicate that with the coaches or see if your camper can leave with another camper.
3. Where can I find the location for the camp?
- The camp will be taking place at the UB Wrestling Room located at 66 Alumni Arena, Buffalo, NY 14260. For specific directions on how to enter the wrestling room from outside the Alumni Arena, see to the link labeled "DIRECTIONS TO THE WRESTLING ROOM (CLICK ME)" at the footer of the page.
4. Is this an overnight camp?
- This camp will not be an overnight camp. Campers are expected to be dropped off in the morning and picked up in the evening.
5. What should I do if my camper is injured?
- Unfortunately, because wrestling is a high-risk sport, there is no guarantee that a camper will not be injured during wrestling. When you sign up for this camp, you acknowledge that there is a chance that your camper might be injured, even if all possible safety precautions are taken.
- We will have multiple coaches trained in sport safety on the mat at all times, as well as an athletic trainer on board if an injury is sustained. If you believe that the injury is more serious, we advise you to take your camper to a local urgent care facility for further diagnosis.
- If your camper has a medical condition that could make them more injury prone or make their injuries more serious, you should notify the coaches of this so they can take the proper actions in the case of an injury.
6. My question wasn't answered by this Q&A. What do I do now?
- If you have a question that was otherwise left unanswered, you should contact Coach Andrew Dunn at bluebullswc@gmail.com with your question, and we will answer it as best as we can. If a question comes up enough it will be added to this list.
